A little bit about me……
Welcome to The Little Upholstery Studio. I'm Lucy and I live in a village on the outskirts of Bristol. I love all things upholstery!
I come from a family of creatives! Artists, vehicle trimmers, furniture restorers and seamstresses. Growing up around this kind of craftsmanship has always made me crave an outlet for my own creativity.
Several years ago I stumbled across the wonderful Bristol Upholstery Collective. I immediately signed up for their AMUSF (Association of Master Upholsterers & Soft Furnishers) three year diploma course and I have been immersed in this creative, supportive, colourful and inspiring world ever since.
Not too long into my training I realised that upholstery would be something I wanted to do full time and so I set up a workshop at home to allow me to start taking on my own commissions.
As time has progressed the workshop has extended into a fully equipped studio with the space and tools allowing me to take on a wide variety of upholstery projects.
Having the opportunity to learn a new craft using the same techniques and traditional materials that have been practised and used for hundreds of years has been a privilege. I feel incredibly lucky to have found a new career that I love and look forward to everyday.
