Terms and Conditions for The Little Upholstery Studio
1. Upon Acceptance of Agreed Work:
Upon acceptance of the works set out in the estimate provided by The Little Upholstery Studio, you agree to abide by the terms and conditions outlined herein. These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between the customer ("you" or "the customer") and The Little Upholstery Studio.
2. Estimates:
a. All estimates provided by The Little Upholstery Studio are subject to change based on the final assessment of the furniture item(s) upon inspection. Any additional work required will be communicated and agreed upon before proceeding.
b. Customers are responsible for notifying The Little Upholstery Studio of any pre-existing damages or issues with the furniture when estimates are provided after seeing pictures only.
c. Estimates provided by The Little Upholstery Studio are valid for a period of three months from the date of issuance.
3. Payment Terms:
a. Full payment is due upon completion of the works as agreed in the estimate and within 7 days of receiving the invoice.
b. Payment is preferable by bank transfer. However, The Little Upholstery Studio will accept payment by cheque.
4. Fabric Costs:
a. For upholstery projects where fabric is supplied by The Little Upholstery Studio and costs are anticipated to be high, upfront payment may be requested.
b. The customer will be invoiced for the fabric costs, and the payment will be due before the commencement of the upholstery work.
5. Cancellation of Agreed Work:
a. Cancellations must be made at least 7 days prior to the collection date.
b. Failure to cancel within the specified timeframe may result in a cancellation fee.
6. Old Covers:
a. All old coverings will be discarded unless the customer requests for them to be returned in writing.
Completion Timeframe:
a. The estimated completion timeframe provided is subject to change based on the complexity of the upholstery work.
b. The Little Upholstery Studio will make reasonable efforts to complete the work within the agreed-upon timeframe.
c. The Little Upholstery Studio will keep the customer informed at all times of supply problems or other factors that can affect delivery times.
8. Fire Safety Compliance:
a. All new fillings applied to furniture manufactured after 1950 by The Little Upholstery Studio will adhere to the Furniture and Furnishings Fire Safety Regulations 1988 (BS5852).
b. Furniture manufactured prior to 1950 falls outside of the scope for compliance. However, it is advisable that your fabric is fire retardant to comply with the regulations mentioned in section a.
b. Any new covering fabric supplied by The Little Upholstery Studio will comply with the regulations outlined in the Furniture and Furnishings Fire Safety Regulations 1988.
9. Fabric Suitability Advisory:
a. The Little Upholstery Studio is committed to ensuring the suitability of fabrics for your upholstery projects. If fabric is supplied by The Little Upholstery Studio, we assume responsibility for its suitability for your particular project and ensure compliance with current UK Fire Regulations as outlined in Part 8.
b. When customers choose to supply their fabric, The Little Upholstery Studio can offer advice; however, ultimate responsibility for the material's suitability rests with the customer. The customer assumes any risks associated with the covering fabric they provide.
10. Delivery Charges:
a. The customer will be informed of any applicable delivery charges based on the distance and size of the furniture. These charges will be detailed in the estimate provided by The Little Upholstery Studio.
b. Delivery charges are due along with the full payment for the upholstery services upon completion of the work.
11. Customer Concerns:
a. If the customer has any concerns or is dissatisfied with the services provided, they have two weeks from the date of delivery to advise The Little Upholstery Studio.
b. The Little Upholstery Studio will make reasonable efforts to address and resolve any issues brought to their attention within this timeframe.
